Legacies

Continue to help animals long into the future with a gift in your Will

Your love for animals can live on by leaving us a legacy to help us save lives. As a charity, we rely on public donations to continue our vital work. With more funds available, we can rescue many more abandoned and unwanted animals.

If animals have a place in your heart please find a place for them in your Will.

Whatever you are able to give will be gratefully received and put to the best use possible.

Residential legacy - The remainder of the estate once other gifts & payments have been made

Pecuniary legacy - A fixed sum of money

Specific legacy - A particular named item eg: a piece of jewellery, property etc

Reversionary legacy - Leave assets or estate to an initial beneficiary for the duration of their life, then upon their passing the assets or estate is passed to the specific named charity.

Types of gifts

Steps to take

  • Work our the value of your estate

  • Decide on your beneficiaries - What ever type of legacy you decide to leave ensure your loved ones are informed

  • Appoint an executor - the named person on your Will who is responsible for making sure your instructions are carried out.

  • Visit a solicitor to have your Will written up and executed

  • Make a copy of your Will for future and keep in a safe place, make sure your next of kin knows where this is stored.

We strongly advise that you do not attempt to write your Will yourself. Home made Wills can often be ruled invalid by the courts if it fails to meet all the legal requirements.
